And it begins! Most helpfully Mom decided to bring out the first decorations last night. Though, when she suggested it, I picked up my laptop and backed slowly out of the room. So my Mom and sister began decorating while I frantically raced to finish NaNo.
Today, I ventured out into the house camera in hand, but I didn't have to go far before I saw these hand made bird ornaments sitting on the piano. They await the Christmas tree and until then are enjoying the music. I captured this shot as Mom played an accompaniment to one of my sister's practice songs. A beginner four hand duet.
Mother crafted these bird ornaments from felt. The wings are decorated with thread and bead embroidery. She barely finished the ornaments on time to give some to the relatives for Christmas gifts. (If you're interested in making them as well, Gooseberry Patch Christmas 2010 magazine has the pattern and the instructions. Click here for the magazine!)
Until next time!
