That is a good point though. It would be interesting if she continued along that line knowingly. Perhaps she hoped it would hook Twihards?Anna Mittowerhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/18367108488911684343noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6697397875598062711.post-25110029143887540832013-01-21T22:22:51.296-05:002013-01-21T22:22:51.296-05:00I saw quite a few Twilight similarities at the get...I saw quite a few Twilight similarities at the getgo, and I read a bit less of Twilight than you did, Anna. LOL Though I do think Dittemore was at least aware of the potential for comparisons, since she has a reference to sparkling vampires, if I recall correctly...Julie Bihnhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16694252260205949341noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6697397875598062711.post-59986100415596887052013-01-21T12:55:42.337-05:002013-01-21T12:55:42.337-05:00I only made it through about half of the first cha...I only made it through about half of the first chapter before I dropped it even though I was reading it purely to create a parody of it. The parody got dropped too. lol

I think the underlying dread is the same. It's a fear of going to a place where it's so small that you can't hide in a throng of people.Anna Mittowerhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/18367108488911684343noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6697397875598062711.post-39818367569863776372013-01-21T11:48:45.233-05:002013-01-21T11:48:45.233-05:00I've never read the Twilight books so I didn&#...I've never read the Twilight books so I didn't know there were any parallels between the two. I read Brielle's dread at returning home as having to due to her failure rather than her actual return to her small town. I'll have to get this more thought.
Thanks for sharing.Meagan @ Blooming with Bookshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15064663127323256501noreply@blogger.com
